Liberty Mutual Insurance announced Thursday it has appointed Phil Hobbs president of underwriting for its Global Risk Solutions division, effective April 1.
London-based Mr. Hobbs, who is currently president of Liberty International Insurance, succeeds Matthew Moore, who was recently named president of Global Risk Solutions.
Mr. Hobbs will report to Mr. Moore and oversee underwriting strategy, portfolio management and product leadership for the global property, casualty and specialty business. He will continue to lead the international business until a successor is appointed.
Mr. Hobbs previously held various roles, including chief actuary, deputy managing director and chief underwriting officer of Liberty Specialty Markets. He joined Liberty Mutual in 2007.
